Relationship Between BMI Degree and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Risk Factors

Background: Obesity is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, psychological issues, some musculoskeletal conditions, and cancers. The aim of the study to evaluate correlation between BMI non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Method: research was conducted cross-sectionally in NAFLD patients who were treated at RSUP H Adam Malik Medan got approval from Ethics Commission Health Research. Sample are taken consecutive sampling that meets criteria inclusion exclusion. Body mass index (BMI) obtained by dividing person's weight kilograms their height square meters, define obesity (OB) if > 25, overweight (OW) 23-24.9, normoweight (NW) 18.5-22.9. Diagnose performing ultrasound examination, resistin adiponectin examination with ELISA (Sandwich Immunoassay), function according IFCC (International Federation Clinical Chemistry), albumin checked BCG method. Result: There 67 (NM=32, OW=15, OB=20) an average age 42.1± 11.9 years, Comparison factors normoweight, overweight, obesity, showing very significant results (all p<0.001). all Conclusion: correlates inflammatory NAFLD.
